I did not want to buy a 2.1--5.1 system. However, seeing a Sony DAV-X1V in action changed my mind. Setting up is very easy, and as I have done with all new AV gear, I ran the speakers in for 48 hours. Straight out of the box the sound is flat, but run in sounds much better for films and music. All the system and remote are built to last, and looks stunning as my friends have said. Setting up the DAV-X1V surround is easy and gives an incredible 5.1 sound field, excellent for films, xbox 360 and pc games. Sony DAV-X1V Picture quality is excellent again, music is very good, but not as good as a dedicated HIFI system.

The fm radio is very good, but the wire they give with the system is only good for throwing away, I could not recieve any channel in stereo or any RDS so I purchased a T wire from comet which made a huge difference. AM is adequate although I have a DAB unit hooked up so I do not listen to AM. I personally purchased the DAVX1V system for audio (I have an xbox 360, PC and DVDR with freeview hooked up to the system all digital)and for this I cannot fault it, with the previous system I had, there where wires all over the place, and I do not have mains sockets for wireless rear speakers so I bought this. I am very pleased with the system and would highly recommend the Sony DAV-X1V to anyone wishing a clean wire-free, high quality, superb looking 2.1--5.1 DTS system.
